Dragon’s Head Cider is an award-winning cidery on Vashon Island, WA, founded in 2010.  We are an orchard-based local producer, crafting high quality cider and perry, and selling though a retail tasting room, at regional farmer’s markets, though our club and online store, and through distribution in Washington and Oregon.

CIDER AMBASSADOR

This team member would host customers at our Uptown tasting room, as well as sell at some of the regional farmers markets.

Ideal candidate is a self-motivated, highly organized individual who is also passionate about the local food and beverage movement. Ideal candidate is interested in learning about our ciders, has experience in the hospitality industry (front of house, bartending, etc.), and is able to provide a high level of customer service to our visitors.

Position Responsibilities

Responsibilities in the tasting room will include:

  • Offering tastings of our ciders for guests
  • Answering questions about our cider making process and our orchard
  • Conducting sales of cider, food, and other retail inventory
  • Managing inventory of the products and associated record keeping
  • Light book keeping associated with a cash box and credit card processing
  • Keeping the tasting room area and supplies clean and well organized

Responsibilities at the farmers markets will include:

  • Independently managing the operations of our farmers market booth, including pick up of supplies, set up and take down of the booth
  • Maintaining a tidy farmers market kit of supplies required for use at the farmers markets
  • Communicating directly with the farmers market managers for each of the individual markets and reviewing and adhering to specific vendor rules and regulations for each market
  • Educating customers about our ciders, and offering tastings of our ciders to customers at markets where it is allowed
  • Conducting sales of cider
  • Managing inventory of the products and light bookkeeping associated with farmers market vendor fees, a cashbox, and credit card processing

Position Requirements

  • Must have a Class 12 server permit
  • Must be able to lift cases of cider and full 1/6 barrel kegs

Work Schedule and Compensation

  • This is a part time position. Some schedule flexibility is possible.

Compensation is $18/hour plus gratuity from guests in the tasting room, and a % commission on sales for work at the farmers markets.
